    ---

Ships have long connected cities and nations, carrying people and stories across the water. I believe that craftsmanship and human skill, even as their roles shift with the times, are things passed down through the everyday lives of people.

This wall stands on the former grounds of Namura Shipbuilding, a site where ships, and the people who built them, once shaped the history of this area.

This mural is inspired by the memory of softball tournaments once held among the local shipyard workers. I imagined that the time spent chasing a ball together, beyond winning or losing, might have nurtured connections that extended far beyond the workplace.

In this artwork, I wanted to transform "competition" into "co-creation." With respect for the workers of the past, a warm salute to everyone who continues to gather and create in this place, and a quiet wish for peace, I painted a landscape that gently connects people to one another, spanning from the past into the future.
