Mori Michi Ichiba
At Mori Michi Ichiba 2025, we led a participatory live painting centered on a large dove—a timeless symbol of peace. Surrounding the dove, I painted red poppies, flowers that represent remembrance and quiet resistance, especially meaningful in solidarity movements.
People joined in by drawing flowers inside the dove with crayons, turning the piece into a collective, interactive artwork. I then brought all these individual expressions together into one unified piece, highlighting the power of community and shared hope.
The colors—red, green, white, and black—are inspired by the watermelon motif often used in solidarity with Palestine, adding subtle layers of meaning related to identity, hope, and freedom.
This project reflects my belief in art as a way to connect people, spark reflection, and promote peace through collaboration.
